If you're in paris don't miss the skiing season. It's always a pleasure to spend some time in the mountains.

The french alps are fine but if your social standards are higher you can try the swiss alps, there is a nice little secret ski station called Gstaad, where you can enjoy the mountains without mixing with the people.
