Researchers of the Arizona University managed to create displays which refresh 3D images once in a couple of minutes. It's the world's first display which emits 3D images.
Up to the moment, it was almost impossible to apply holography to moving images.
Still, the device can show only monochromatic images and is 4X4 inches size. Currently, researchers are working on a wider display with the same function which could be used by ordinary people.
According to one of the invention's author, holographic TVs will be flat devices which could be hung on the wall or mounted into the desk. It is believed that the world will begin widely using it in 5 years.
3D displays are the gadgets which we can usually see in sci-fic movies. If they appear, I guess the cinemas will cease their business.
