Would You Let Your Daughter Go On School Trip To Paris And Barcelona?

Would you let your daughter go on school trip to Paris and Barcelona? Posted 28 January 2011
I'm 15 and I really want to go to Paris and Barcelona for my Spanish class this summer. Moneys not the problem. My parents think I'm too young. I consider myself pretty responsible (good grades, never do anything bad, that type of thing). I would think that since it's a school trip, we'd be pretty safe. Would you let your daughter go on this trip?

I went to Switzerland and Italy on a school trip when I was 14 and had a great time. The school is responsible for looking after you, and the trip is bound to be pretty structured so you won't have time to get into any trouble. I would certainly allow my daughter to go on a trip like this, and would encourage it. It's a great experience and something you'll remember for the rest of your life.

Yes, absolutely.

Not only is it necessary for your studies but you are definitely old enough to go on a school trip abroad. My kids have been doing this from a much younger age. I went on my first school trip abroad to Switzerland when I was eleven. When my son was 12 he went to stay with friends in Spain. I took him to the airport and he flew as an accompanied minor (with a stewardess looking after him) with British Airways. He was met at the airport by my friends (whom I trust completely) and returned the same way.

He was completely unruffled by it. School trips develop confidence and maturity. You have to spread your wings and fly sometime-the sooner you are prepared for it the better. After all, you are only 3 years away from going to University. If you don't get some experience away from your parents then leaving home for University will be too big a shock. Not only that, but you will be with school friends and will have a great time.

Ask your parents to speak to a teacher if they are worried.

No.
To young especially to travel those cities.
Your parents are correct.
Not wise.
