Restaurant List Mobile Application

Restaurant list mobile application Posted 22 December 2010
If you are planning to go to Paris, there are some nice applications for smart phones. My advice is that you should be very carefull choosing one:

A lot of them are mainly extensions of existing websites, they propose a lot of features but make a heavy use of a mobile internet connection. If you are roaming abroad theses connections can be realy expensive and obviously not included in your monthly fee. You can spend easily 100-300 $ € or £ without noticing it.

So choose applications that explicitly say that all data are included or no internet connection is needed. It's better to spend 10$ in such an application than 10 times more in roaming costs with a free application. Even in this case, you can be tricked: the data are included but the application is interfaced with the GPS and maps are downloaded from Internet: you will pay it and it will empty your batteries. Some application have maps included but they tend to take a lot of space on the phone memory.

If your application use heavily an internet connection or if you want to use the GPS integration, you can go in a hotel hall or at MacDonald's. You have a free wifi connection here, but it's a constraint to find free wifi.

I created a small application only for Paris restaurants and I want to have your feedback.
It does not need any internet connection and has 600 restaurants you can call to book your table. It's realy "plain" and simple and works for android and Nokia, even quite old ones: search "paris restaurant Android BrittanyCode" or "paris restaurant OVI BrittanyCode" if you use Nokia mobile phones. I can offer the same application for London if you help me with a good feed-back.
