One Day In Paris

One day in Paris Posted 23 August 2009
Hello!

My and my GF are planning one day in Paris. We're from Portugal, and due to tight schedules (and her parents refusal to spend the night, even if she's 22 :x), we are going only one day.

I know it's almost impossible to plan a day in Paris with all you have to see, but I plan to do the most of it.

First, we're going on low cost, so we arrive in 'Beauvais' at 13.05. We have a bus that will take us to Port Maillot at 13.25, arriving at 14.40.

We have to take the bus back to the airport at 19.45 (in Port Maillot), that leaves us 4 hours (give or take) in Paris.

I ready a thread about the way from Port Maillot to Tour Eiffel, and I think we're going to take the line '82', to Neully-Hôpital Amerícain. First question here, does it take long? Like 30 min ? And how much are the prices from Port Maillot to Tour Eiffel on that line?

So, we are going to be at Tour Eiffel by 15.30 at most. I think we are not going all the way up, because we won't have enough time.

Another question now: How far is from Tour Eiffel to the Champs Elysees ? Is it "doable" to leave Tour Eiffel at 16.30, go to the Champs Elysees and be back at Port Maillot at 19.45? If so, how?

Thanks for your (future) kind answers.

One day in Paris?! Now that's a challenge right there! There are so many great places to see and visit in Paris that I'm sure one day would not be enough. Still, I think to get the most of your one day in Paris you should join the "hop on hop off" touring buses in Paris. Their daily itinerary already includes some of the most important and popular tourist attractions in Paris. I think the tour makes about 9 stops. however, the tour will run through the night; maybe you can make arrangements with your girlfriend's parents regarding that! You two have fun, Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world!
