Re: How much should a 10 day trip to Paris cost?

Check Currency Exchange rates on the Web anytime. However, be aware that anywhere you exchange currency will charge a fee, so the base rate you see on the Web is really only a CPA's concept. The best rate would be at your own bank at home, the worst on your trip when you are in a hurry and don't know the area. This is a cost of the trip, too.
No, you cannot avoid this exchange fee, no matter what. So try to spend all your foreign money on the trip. Whatever remains can be saved for the next trip. Don't need to cash it in until you want to. Don't worry about understanding another currency; spending we ALL understand.
One euro= about $1.50 these days
Have your credit card with you and be sure to take precautions in using it. Before you leave, tell your credit card company where you will be going and when. They will deny the charge unless you do this. Take the International phone number of the credit card company, make photocopies.
