I just got back from a little holiday trip in Paris. Besides the awful cold and blizzard like every other day, It was a great Christmas trip.
I went to some really good restaurants I have to advise. In the 7th arrondissement, I went to a place called Gatsby. It wasn't too expensive, but I had a discount card (more on that later), but the food was classic french and it had a good ambiance. The people were pretty friendly too, even with my broken French!
I also liked the Bistrot des Comperes. It was also pretty cheap (see a pattern?) and had little sandwiches and the like, but still very frenchy. I'm a student so I don't have a ton of money for fine fine cuisine, so I just wanted to give a little heads-up to some places I liked.
So the discount card. My concierge got a little annoyed with me (I think) cuz I kept asking for restaurants that were 'cheap'! But he actually suggested I buy this little card from a company called TheCityCase, and when I went to the restaurants above (apparently there are quite a few places that accept the card) I saved like $10 each time. Well worth the money. Apparently they do other stuff too on their site, I wish I had known before I went to Paris! their site is thecitycase. com, I hope that helps someone!
And if you go to Paris, I hope the weather is better than when I went! Hahah!
