We are looking for a Publishing Marketing Manager to join our team!

SUMMARY
Based in Paris, this position will work closely with VIZ Media Europes UK based publishing partner to oversee, plan, and implement retail, industry, and consumer marketing strategies for the VIZ line of graphic novels (manga) for the United Kingdom. Candidate will manage marketing activities for the assigned product line from acquisition stage through product life cycles to optimize exposure, sales, and profit objectives. Furthermore, candidate will meet financial and corporate goals and growth objectives by performing the following duties.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1.Participates in overall product strategy, including product launch planning, marketing initiatives, retail and consumer events, retail marketing and promotions, advertising, market research and product development.
2.Manages day-to-day progress of product marketing plan execution.
3.Acts as primary marketing VIZ Media Europe liaison with UK distribution partner, retailers, and press, as well as VIZ Medias head office in San Francisco.
4.Conducts marketing analysis to develop product acquisition recommendations.
5.Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, editorial, marketing, design, and operations to execute specific marketing plans for each assigned title.
6.Coordinates the development of marketing and sales materials and collateral.
7.Coordinates marketing, sales, editorial, and financial plan for product line.
8.Provides financial and marketing justification for acquisitions.
9.Prepares marketing objectives and schedules for all phases of product solicitation and introduction to market.
10.Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in company's industry.
11.Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
12.Participates in key sales situations and events for the product.
13.Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product line.
14.Develops monthly and quarterly reports for management.

In addition to these typical duties, may perform other duties as assigned and required.

MINIMUM ABILITY, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to speak and write effectively in English A MUST
Ability to speak and write effectively in French a PLUS
Strong knowledge of UK publishing industry, ideally the manga category.
Strong knowledge of overall European publishing industry A PLUS.
Ability to interact with culturally diverse clients, service providers and staff.
Ability to work legally in the EU.
Ability to live in/commute to VIZ Media Europe headquarters in Paris, France.


MINIMUM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION
5-7 years of relevant business experience.
Publishing experience in the UK a MUST.
Manga/comics industries experience a PLUS.
Publishing experience in other European markets a PLUS.
Equivalent of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, with a record that demonstrates suitable preparation for this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not supervise the work of others.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily works in an office environment, requiring the following activity: lifting and carrying materials, weighing up to 15 pounds, kneeling, bending. Approximately 75 percent of time spent on the job involves use of a video display terminal. Must be able to sit for extended periods and to utilize standard ergonomics practices. Must be available for work-related travel.

As part of a multi-media entertainment company, employees may be subjected to work-related images including content such as: sexually explicit images, nudity, and graphic violence. OTHER INFORMATION
Employees must adhere to all applicable VIZ Media Europe, S.A.R.L policies and procedures. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours, such as nights, on an as-needed basis is required. Employees must be able to cope effectively with deadlines and multiple demands.
