Tea Salons In Paris

tea salons in paris Posted 25 August 2005
Hi everyone,
The last time I visited Paris, I went to the Angelica tea salon in the 1st Arrondissement. It was a bit too baroque for me --- gilt furnishings, mirrors everywhere, lots of tourists, etc. Does anyone know of any more low-key tea salons in Paris, especially one not overrun with tourists? I speak French fluently, so I'm not so worried about communicating with the staff.

A Priori Th at 35, Galeries Vivienne (Metro Bourse) for ambiance; La Maison du Th, 76 rue Bonaparte, directly across from the church of St. Sulpice; Mariage Frres, 13 rue des Grands Augustins (Metro Odeon); with 3 locations in Paris, Ladure, 16 rue Royale, (Metro Madeleine), 75 avenue des Champs Elyses, (Metro Franklin Roosevelt) or 21 rue Bonaparte, (Metro: St. Germain des Pres) try their mini-macarons (not related to the coconut things we call macaroons in the US).
