Hi

I'll be living in Paris for a few months as a student. I will be rent a room from my friend, so I will not have a rental contract.

I'we been told that it can be a problem to open up a bank account if I don't have a rental contract. But I need a bank account to be able to receive my student loans from Iceland.

Does anyone know if it is possibly do open a bank account if I don't have a rental contract?

It's been a while since I've done this, but it used to be you mainly needed some proof of residence, which could also, for instance, be a utility bill. However, it even seems that you can sign up on-line these days. Try visiting the sites for some of the major banks, like BNP Paribas, for more information.
