Rosaries are about religion, not about fashion. However, you can create a rosary necklace to wear, which helps you stay connected to your religion no matter where you go. This necklace can help you pray or meditate, and although they are primarily used for Hail Marys in the Catholic religion, they can be used in other religions as well. You can make a rosary on even a very low budget, or you can splurge for more expensive beads and real silver or gold pieces.
1. Divide the 53 beads of the first variety into one group of three and five groups of ten on your jewelry mat. The six beads of the second variety should be in their own group.
2. String each bead onto an eye pin.
3. Connect the beads in your group of three together using the eye pins. With your pliers, string the open end of the first pin through the loop on the second pin. Create a loop to secure and snip off any extra with your wire cutters.
4. Repeat step three with the groups of ten and close off the eye pins on the single beads with a loop so that you have one string of three beads, five strings of ten beads each and six single beads.
5. Connect a link of chain to each end of each string of beads. Additionally, connect one link of chain each to two of the single beads.
6. Add the two single beads with chains to either end of the string of three beads. Connect the crucifix to one end and the center to the other. If your center has an engraved image or design, this strand of beads should be connected to the loop at the bottom of the image.
7. Connect remaining beads to create a strand in an alternating pattern of one single bead and one string of ten beads. The strand should start and end with a string of ten.
8. Attach both loose ends to one of the center's loops to close the circle.
