I am looking to buy a small and relatively cheap appartment in or around Paris - budget 150,000 euros.

My kids live with my ex-wife in Paris, and for me to visit them for weekends from Scotland I'm killing myself financially staying in hotels, not least the nightmare of trying to keep my two little toddlers happy from a hotel room. Completely horrible, especially with a nasty and unhelpful ex-wife.

I used to live in St Germaine en Laye several years ago and loved that area. However can anyone suggest a 'nice' area anywhere in or around Paris worth considering?

of course there's a balance of 'nice' area and what I get for such a small budget. Ideally I need at least 1 bedroom.

Also ideally needs to be near RER or Metro, preferably a pleasant environment especially for kids...

Would love to hear of some suggestions...

I am not sure you can get much more than a microstudio for 150.000 euros.
you should buy something in Barcelona or Madrid for such a low price
