RER D Line

RER D Line Posted 26 April 2008
Hi
Will be moving to Paris soon...looks like I'd probably be using the D Line of the RER to get into central paris from time to time. Will be going right to the end...(towards Orry-La-Ville)
However, the past few days I've heard only bad things about this line...since it goes through the banlieues. People being stabbed, horror stories, etc. If I was coming back at night would anyone recommend finding another way back than the RER? Or is it just a few people being dramatic?

Thanks

There was a rapist that stabbed a woman in RED D, but it was some years ago and he is arrested.
RER D was indeed classified as dangerous, especially at night and beyond Garges, the station after Villiers-le-Bel. It would be nice to have some friends with you when traveling at night and so deep in suburbs.

agh! great.
thanks for answering. Might see if I can stay in the city if I go out at night then.
It's ok during the day though right?

Suburbs will always be dangerous for tourists, especially for the large number of emigrants who stay here.

why are you scared about banlieues? It is people who live there, not animals :)

I'm sure of that, but it doesn't mean you will be killed in public transport.

Usually tourists are abused, by selling them souvenirs with an extra price.

I'm sure of that, but sellers don't sell their items in public transports :D
