Re: Smoking is a sign of anxiety

Exercise usually helps dissipate withdrawal symptoms, and it depends upon what you mean by exercise.
Up your intake of vitamin C to at least 3000 mg day (more or less, up to the point where you start with loose stool). Vitamin C is essentially a miracle medicine when it comes to lung health, and, it also helps with quitting smoking. In a few days you will see a remarkable difference in your breath, even if you don't manage to quit smoking. And, it will very likely help alleviate that month-long "flu" ex-smokers get about a month after quitting.
If you feel it might help, try using electronic cigarettes as an aid while you are quitting. Nothing gets into your lungs, and because you can take a hit or two when you need it, helps with the anxiety. Look into them as a way to help.
Each person is individual. Usually withdrawal stymptoms are over in a few weeks, but they can last months depending on a number of factors; as can the cravings. And, if the individual has deficient nicotine receptors to begin with, that "withdrawal" and anxiety will last a lifetime as the body is not receiving a sufficient amount of nicotine.
