The Marantz Professional PMD670 is the second generation, portable, solid state
recorder, recording audio directly as files to Compact Flash or Microdrive storage
formats. These can subsequently be inserted into a computer for editing, distribution or archiving. This new generation of the Marantz includes changes such as switchable sampling frequencies, USB connection and removable covers across the main control panel and media drive.
Featuring a brand new engine, capable of recording in the popular high compression MP3 format as well as MP2 and uncompressed linear PCM, the PMD670 has the flexibility to be used in a wide variety of recording applications. In addition to variable bitrates (controlling file size and recording time), the PMD670 has selectable sampling rates (16khz up to 48khz) for fine recording control in both compressed and uncompressed recording.
The USB port allows high speed direct download from the machine without removing the media, while the lockable covers (supplied) can be fitted to both the card slot and the top panel settingsthereby allowing an engineer or technical manager to preset the unit, confident that changes cannot accidentally be made during use.
