Charming Cottage In Medieval Bourgogne Village

Charming Cottage in Medieval Bourgogne Village Posted 28 May 2007
Rent a charming, ancient cottage in a medieval French village (Semur-en-Auxois) near Dijon in the picturesque Bourgogne region for 1000 euros per week direct from the owner. Just a 2 hour drive from Paris or a 45 minute TGV ride from Charles de Gaulle Airport; the village is ideally situated between major sites and chateau. Chablis and the historic abbey at Vzelay are a short drive north, while the beautiful medieval city of Dijon (home to the Dukes of Burgundy) and the famous, world renowned Bourgogne (Cote d'Or) vineyards around Beaune are just to the south. The final leg of this years Tour de France this summer begins in our village also!

Nestled adjacent to the historic "Pont Pinard" bridge in Semur-en-Auxois, the cottage commands one of the best views of the old village and ramparts above. From the private upper stone terrace or the large lower garden, which borders the Armancon River, one has a complete view of Semur's medieval stone towers and cathedral which are UNESCO supported world heritage sites. The cottage, which can comfortably sleep 4-6 people, has two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, laundry and a complete kitchen with all appliances and utilities.
