The Dordogne Region offers the best in a French vacation: history (from Pre, to Roman, Medieval to present), 1001 castles, medieval villages, beautiful vistas, quiet country roads, and world-renowned cuisine and wine. Our central location is perfect to explore the incredible variety of the Perigord. Visit the vineyards which produce the world famous Bordeaux wines, visit several old fortified villages (bastides), experience breathtaking views of Rocamadour sitting precariously on cliff sides, and be awe stricken with the natural wonders of the Padirac Chasm. Visit the medieval villages of Sarlat, and Perigueux. For the active, canoe down the Dordogne River past Castles and villages built into the rock face (La Roque-Gageac) For the historian, a visit to the caves of Lascaux II and Les Eyzies (the capital of prehistory) may be a highlight. And for the kids, castles filled with medieval armaments to bring alive the stories of knights in shining armor. For others it will be the gourmet cuisine and the lovely accommodation.

You will experience gastronomic specialties on a daily basis. Perigord boasts a menu known throughout France: cepes (mushrooms), truffles, walnut liqueur, cabecou (regional goat cheese), roast duck (canard) and garlic soup. To satisfy a true epicurean taste, sample a truffle omelet accompanied by local wine, or enjoy the regions best foie gras on fresh bread.
